At Affidea Osteocentre Prague, we have been addressing the issues of metabolic bone diseases, particularly osteoporosis, through long-term focus on diagnosis and treatment. Since its establishment in 1997, Osteocentre has become one of the largest specialized facilities in the Czech Republic dedicated to metabolic bone diseases and osteoporosis, operationally and organizationally geared towards routine clinical operations. In our osteology clinics, physicians with specialized qualifications in fields related to osteoporosis (internal medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology) work. Six doctors hold specialized qualifications in Clinical Osteology.
The head of the facility and their deputy have been members of the committee of the Society for Skeletal Metabolic Diseases of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně (www.smos.cz) for many years. This professional society serves as the expert guarantor for osteoporosis patient care in the Czech Republic. Physicians from the osteocentre regularly lecture at various symposia, congresses, and other events in the Czech Republic dedicated to osteoporosis issues.
